This pillow is much better than the body pillows I've bought from popular chain stores (e.g. stores) for about the same price. When it arrived it looked pretty ridiculous but having bought the pillows online I was expecting it. Also, there was a smell of foam chemicals for about 24 hours. It wasn't too strong, but it was noticeable up close. The pillow isn't as flat as the store pillows, but it wasn't so firm that your head wouldn't sink into it either. I would say it's around 4-5 points on a 10 point hardness scale. I wish I had the option to add a little more filling, but that's nowhere near the closest to perfection I've seen in a body pillow. I also think it felt a bit chilly. The optional silky outer case was great too, but I don't like the silky feel of the case. For the price this is a good deal.
