Review on PChero Operated Decorative Flameless Flickering by Kevin Hutchison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

flickers; The timer works as described; The bases are more ornate than the usual squat cylinders

I bought the warm white short version which has a base averaging about 2.5cm high - the rim is variable so in some cases they are slightly taller and a somewhat shorter in others. "Flame" barely peeks past the top of the highest point. -- The light seems a bit more yellow to me than the actual candlelight, but I think it has to do with limitations. the use of a single battery to illuminate an LED and the power requirements of different colors and brightness levels of LED materials, and warm white has one of the highest power consumption levels. Thus, color probably represents the best balance between "warmth" of light, brightness and energy efficiency. In any case, the yellowish light is not that unpleasant and is not usually noticeable, especially when the candle is placed in a candlestick or other decorative element. I just noticed. Because I originally put it separately on a glossy white shelf in front of a white thing, and well, because that's who I am ;) The light is also flickering, uneven and rarely bright pulses and looks decently realistic. I like it, so overall they're pretty decent, especially for the price. The shape looks a lot better than plain white puck LED art candles, so they're not bad at all if they stick out a little over the candlestick or in any other environment they're used in. I've never tried any that say they're real wax so I don't know how the looks compare to that, but they are MUCH easier to store thread, especially since it comes in the original coated corrugated box which can be wiped clean and put on if needed definitely strong enough to hold candles. ---- I know it's a bit silly to talk about a box, but if you're looking to save your candles after the holidays, it's good to have a good box on hand rather than looking for something. or another which may or may not be sufficient. The timer is an interesting feature and seems to work as advertised. All you have to do is turn it on anytime you want it to keep turning on and it will turn on and on at the same time and turn off after 6 hours. This is a handy feature to save battery, especially for those evenings when memory can be less efficient than usual ;) The description says that one battery lasts for several days; I'm on day 5 of the test and it's still going although it seems to be weakening a bit but still very noticeable. Overall I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
