Looking at the pictures you might think that this is clearly as advertised. The problem is that the second photo is a close-up with the lighting set for the camera and not the naked eye, glasses or bifocals. The instructions also state that the back and front films need to be removed, although it wasn't possible to remove the film from the front, which could make it less glossy and easier to read. Also compared to digital thermometer, not to the same extent. I will probably not repeat the purchase.
