Review on Gurin DHMD 110 Renewable Wireless Dehumidifier by Steve Poe

I bought three of these devices in August 2018 and was not disappointed. They absorb moisture quickly and seem to improve with each charge. I use them for a variety of purposes including protecting 3D printer filaments and keeping additives dry. Please note that there are not many balls in these devices. They cannot absorb much moisture. So if you put them in an airflow room/pantry/area you can't expect them to last very long before needing to be recharged. This is especially true if you live in a humid environment or try to use them in a humid environment like a bathroom or basement. If you're using them in an enclosed space like a gun cabinet, they still might not last long if the safe is cheap and ventilated, especially if the safe is in your basement, near a source of moisture, or if you're in a humid environment live environment. As the bullets charge, they heat up to evaporate the trapped moisture. The environment must be dry enough for evaporation to take place! If you try to charge after 16 hours and do nothing, the humidity may be too high. They are unsealed in their shipping container and require charging. None of my three came "dry" and they weren't fully charged after 12-16 hours on the cord. I used them anyway and recharged them shortly after as they quickly absorbed a lot of moisture in the first few days in the containers I use them in. The second reload worked much better and they seemed to get better and last longer after 4-5 reloads. Each unit comes with a string and a "hanger" that you put in a hole in the corner of the house. You can then use this to suspect the device while it's charging. I hang them outside so the heat dissipates and doesn't cause problems. I've had no issues with melting, overheating, etc. If the house is damp, I use a vibrating fan on the blocks when charging to keep air circulating over them.
