Review on Arkon Tablet Holder Samsung Galaxy by Brian Nicholas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good job for mounts

Bought to hold my Samsung 10.1 tablet which I used as a GPS navigator while tracking this year's eclipse. Installed on Toyota Rav4 2013. I was a little worried when I ordered that the height would be too short, but it turned out to be perfect for what I need it for. Really felt perfectly placed for easy operation while driving. YES, it wobbles a bit. Maybe 1/4-1/2 inch wobble either way on rough roads. I've never found that bothersome on a 10.1-inch tablet on a 5,000-mile trip, but if that annoys you then this probably isn't the kind of mount you want. The grips held my tablet securely and I never felt unsafe about the tablet detaching or falling out of the holder, but the grips feel a little cheap and I question their durability. There were some installation issues when I removed the nut under my seat that I originally intended to use to install these. Luckily there was a second nut holding the seat an inch further to the frame that I used to secure it. Unfortunately I have yet to find a way to remove and replace this ruined nut. When installing, be sure to use the correct tools. Don't try to use a crescent moon to loosen the nut as it was a lot tighter than intended. Be sure to use a ring/ring spanner of the appropriate size.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Legacy model
