I bought this to hold my iPad 2 so I can use it to navigate my car. The mount that bolts to the passenger seat is very rigid, so the iPad is held very securely. Also, the mounting mechanism is spring-loaded from below, so you insert your tablet by pressing it against the two bottom brackets while pushing back on the top of the tablet. I have paired this with the Kensington SecureBack security case and lock for iPad 4 with Retina display, iPad 3 and iPad 2 (K67751AM) and couldn't be happier. The spring slippage problem (holder appears to have a 'broken' spring) that others have mentioned is really poor engineering. The good news is that this is pretty easy to fix if you can use a screwdriver. The main issue is that the post that holds the spring inside the tablet holder has a very slight incline. This desktop mount is very easy to install and there are many mounting options to choose from. There's a floor mounting plate if you want a 'tougher' mount that only takes a few seconds (and a screwdriver) to swap out.
