, this thing is very easy to install, you run the wire to the spark plug and wrap it around the spark plug wire a few times and it runs on its own battery when you install it so if you forget to turn it off no problem . Drain the battery and the battery life of this thing is unreal. I keep forgetting to turn it off, so it probably lasted over 100 hours and it's still showing a full battery. It turns on automatically when you start the bike and it ramps up the voltage through the plug wire programming the bad part of this thing. The instructions aren't very clear and it took me a bit of time to get it right and it only shows the time in 24 hour military format and only when the bike is NOT working other than those 2 little things I on this tachometer likes
