I thought this would be the perfect gift for my 8 year old granddaughter who gets very curious. Her father takes her to museums and other interesting and learning places, and she sometimes travels with her mother when she travels to other countries. She's a very smart kid. So I decided to get her something different for Christmas 2016 and chose this one. With the Smithsonian name I thought it would be a very good projector. NO! My daughter said she put the batteries in and it stayed on for about 3 minutes. 3 minutes? Yes, and I was shocked. Not only was I outraged that it didn't last, my granddaughter wanted to take it to show and tell and she can't. Has it ever occurred to you that if you make things for kids, at least make sure they work? I don't like disappointing kids, but apparently you don't care. I should have read the reviews before buying but I didn't just because it was called Smithsonian. Some have called it garbage, and I tend to agree.
