I bought this to use with my old Drobo DRO4D-D 16TB 4 Bay Array that uses USB 2 to Connected to the USB Type-C/Thunderbolt port used on a new 2018 Mac mini. The cable didn't work for a mass storage device on Drobo because it didn't recognize it, so I went back to using a standard USB B to USB 2.0 cable used. This Fasgear cable worked great with my old Canon Lide 35 scanner as well as my old Gdrive G-Tech. That means there was something he didn't like about Drobo. I went to Fry's and bought their cheapest type C to USB B cable and it seems to work with Drobo and Mac Mini so it's connected to the cable somehow. If it worked like any other USB cable I would give it 5 stars.
