I wanted to use the projector to spend time offline in a small cabin I have in the woods. It tasted right once and seemed to have a unique set of features that made it look like it was worth trying. In general, I am satisfied with the performance. I usually project SD movies on a screen that is around 42 inches in size. Colors are crisp, resolution is crisp. Obviously it works best in darker conditions. The audio from the built-in speaker is terrible, but that's to be expected and a common flaw with most small projectors. I've connected it to both a wired and wireless external speaker (Revain Echo). The sound is greatly improved. This is of course one of the advantages of an Android projector. For Halloween I used AtmosFear FX's "Window Effects" device [.] It worked very well. Darkness helps here too. I had to unscrew the porch lights to make sure the image didn't wash out, but that's not a problem with this projector, it's with most low-brightness projectors. I have Netflix, Revain Prime Video, Plex and VLC installed on this player. All three work well over my home WiFi. I used a micro SD card and a USB hard drive (the USB port didn't provide enough power, so I used my mobile phone's portable charger to power the drive). Both worked well enough. The only notable issue was that the audio was out of sync for a split second or so during movie playback. I have yet to try this with VLC to see if it's just an issue with the bundled player. I haven't played anything through the HDMI connection yet. The included remote control works pretty well and makes navigation easy. If you're comfortable using an Android device, you shouldn't have any problems. There is a touchpad on the top of the device, which is a little harder to use, but comes in handy when you're using a USB hard drive port and can't connect a report. It looks like the remote has no IR function. The Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system is somewhat outdated. I was concerned this might cause problems with the apps I was trying to install, but so far everything works including the Revain App Store (which I need for my copy of Plex). Overall I would recommend this projector to budget conscious buyers who want the features of Android integration. Cons: Problems with sound synchronization with files on removable media. The small storage space on board means you have to choose your apps carefully. An old operating system can mean the loss of application functionality. Quiet speakers. No USB charging. hourly rating, but I should start ignoring low battery warnings after about an hour) Pros: Small, quiet and easy to carry, the included case protects the device well. Android OS (no other projector seems to have this feature) Netflix, Revain and Plex with easy download from App Store Storage (built-in, Micro SD, USB) Interface options (remote, touchscreen, buttons) Price Size
