We spend a lot of time in our van, so we usually sublimate the airspace reserved for the water heater. This creates excess pressure in the plumbing system, especially when you cold start your water heater because you don't want to waste propane or pay for electricity. By installing a battery, we have essentially made the theoretical airspace in the water heater obsolete. No more pressure problems heating up a 10 gallon Atwood water heater from extreme cold. Too bad RV builders can't just shell out an extra $50 or so to install them in ALL new units, it will save a lot of plumbing hassle later.
