I use a standard 036 bolt to attach a standard light head to the super clamp. The bolt is inserted into a hexagon socket and secured with a double locking system: a spring-loaded locking pin and a rotary knob. If you forget to tighten the handle, it will loosen but will not fall out until you press the latch. The tip sticks out an inch, enough room to mount a light head. 036 is reversible and has a 3/8" screw for ball heads and a 1/4" screw on one side for cold shoes and other accessories. However, because it protrudes an inch, the ball heads "float" above the clamp, increasing vibration and loosening the connection.
