I have to say right away that I'm writing this review after buying the second unit. The first is decent but can fail at times, and this one is no different. **The first thing I want to change on this device is the power button. ** It would be great if this could be changed to a toggle switch or other type of switch. You have no idea if it's on or off when you get it. You have to connect something to it, give it a few minutes to build up a small charge just to see if the switch is on or off. There's nothing worse than putting it high above the house and just waiting for it to be off the entire time. These are the only two cameras that give me "Live view unavailable". If you keep trying to log in, it will finally bring up the camera so you can see what's going on. This can be dangerous if someone knocks on your door and you can't see what's going on. The camera clearly reports that it has detected motion, but you just can't see it. In my opinion, that's not very good. ** Third, the solar panel bracket looks cheap and even fragile. **You all probably know what really cheap plastic is compared to heavier plastic. It feels cheap like plastic. It seems to me that if I overtighten the screws I will end up breaking the plastic flange. I added a few small washers myself to spread the downforce a bit and tightened the bolts just enough to make contact with the mounting flange. Sure, then excuse me, right? **A Few Pros** I like that the solar panel is small, about 7 inches high and 6 inches wide, and the panel itself is only about 1/8 inch thick (excluding the battery). The platen articulation offers a decent range of motion, making it quite user-friendly in that regard. Last but not least, the length of the cable is sufficient. In general, it's quite long, but every application will be different when it comes to this part, it hangs all depends on how you want to route your wires. All in all, this is a good budget device, but I would like the above issues to be addressed. Thank you for reading my review.
