I'm not the kind of wealthy YouTuber who has the resources to buy products they want to watch (most of them get it's actually just free direct from the manufacturer - a small compromise for free advertising to return the company tens of thousands if not more). But my appetite for electronics is just as insatiable, if not greater than theirs. Long story short, I buy used or refurbished/refurbished/refurbished electronics and if I like it I'll come here and tell you the average person's point of view. I learned about this Edifier system from a technical article, so I researched both the speakers and the company. In short, Edifier is like Xiaomi phones, TCL TVs, Asus laptops - nondescript manufacturers that produce quite decent quality products at low prices. Well, to be perfectly honest, is this $150 system worth the money due to the unrecognizableness of their brand? Just add $50 and you get a set of Soundsticks III from the world famous brand Harman Kardon and great sound quality. So for me it's not worth it. However, I received them almost like new for $40 just without the retail box. Not sure if it was a pricing mistake, but $150 new and $40 new is a huge gap, and at $40 these speakers are an absolute steal. The sound is very good - not as good as the SoundSticks, which have a range of tweeters and are very good at handling high frequencies. The Edifier's sound has good, warm mids, while the low end is a bit muffled but still strong at 30W RMS. I think if you're a gamer these are for you as you don't need a neutral sounding system (for audiophiles) or glass breaking sound (for movie buffs). It's just a good computer speaker system. Because let's face it, the looks are what you bought it for. If the soundsticks are for Apple, then these edifiers represent the PC gamer. So if you can find these speakers for less than $100, that's a much better value.
