If, like us, you couldn't get the irrigator to work, turn it around. Below is a small black switch. This is a three channel frequency switch. Flip the switch to one of the other positions and see if that works - it worked for us. Nothing in the docs tells you this either, but you can leave Waterpik connected to the network, according to a Waterpik representative; this does not affect the life of the battery in any way. I'm only giving four stars because there is nothing in the product literature on these two items, nor is there anything online. Once you get the element up and running, it does its job flawlessly.
