Just received this item 3 days ago. I worked hard decorating the tree and enjoying the beautiful lights for two whole days until tonight. I turned on the light and went to cook dinner. Ten minutes later the tree darkened. I grabbed the plug to make sure it was plugged in and it was very hot. I took it off the wall, put it back in my pocket and watched. Within 1 minute the lights went out and I could smell burning electronics from the USB plug that came with the lights. Very creepy. Now the whole thread is useless. ***Update* After contacting support about the issue, they sent two new kits to replace the faulty one. These kits were perfect with no wire crimp marks. They were very quick and worked hard to make me happy. Impressed by their willingness to solve the problem, which is nice in this day and age when companies are ignoring their customers. I hope these lamps will last for many years.
