These have no driver circuit to regulate the current to the LEDs, if you run them at 13.5 volts as is the case when plugged into shore power, prepare to smell burning electronics. These put out the exact same light at 12.8v as they do at 13.5v and actually matched my old 1156 incandescent bulbs perfectly, but the fact that there is no tolerance for voltages commonly seen while charging batteries makes these a terrible option. Spend a bit more money and get a replacement bulb that actually has a proper constant-current LED driver chip. I would never buy these unless they were only going to be used on a regulated 12.0v power supply.
