Excellent introduction to DMR in Portable Audio & Video

I heard about DMR on site. At the end of last year I watched several videos on You Tube and became interested in this mode. At the last meeting of the radio club, the local guru of the DMR repeater system gave a presentation, which interested me even more. I was ready to pull the trigger but hesitated a bit. Then an even better offer came and I grabbed the guy. I had listened to the Brandmeister Hoseline a bit beforehand and wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the sound, but I blamed it on the internet in general. When I got the radio I made a quick code jack for 17 call stations that were available at one of the local repeaters. (A local group has a dozen repeaters covering much of California's south Central Valley. Even a few low-level repeaters fill in the central areas for excellent HT coverage. I then updated the regular firmware. I got mine looked at the instructions a bit to build the experimental firmware but didn't feel like installing the build environment then I found someone distributing firmware images.JOY!Some of these things are cool and some I don't have Idea what they are for or how to use them Contacts so far The sound is generally good but is still a little lacking compared to the good old analog FM I'm used to (Now I'm talking like I'm OM but I'm no.) Sometimes the sound becomes unreliable and disappears. Sometimes it's so clear that you can't even tell when the person removes the keys. If you want to try the new mode, think I think it's a great radio. great price check out phones at a decent price!
