I chose my cat harness very carefully because I read some other reviews (for other products). got which the man said his cat slipped out of the harness. I chose this one because it was a good price and the reviews were generally positive. I decided to try indoors first before taking our cat outside, just in case. He is now about 7 months old and weighs about 6.5 pounds. Small to medium size fits very well. It was too tight at first, but then we realized that there are adjustable shoulder straps and we made it comfortable. Understandably, the cat was startled by this, but resigned after a few minutes. We let him run around the house in it and he never came out. There are two straps: one around the neck and one around the torso. Even if one of them comes loose, the other must stay in place. If you protect him well enough, I don't see a way for him to get out of this. I might have seen some of the smarter cats coming out of the torso straps, but the neck piece needs to be reasonably secure. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. We have taken our cat for a few walks but he is still getting used to it. Of course, learning takes time as cats are not used to walking on a leash. But as for the suspension itself, I think it's reasonably safe and comfortable.
