Review on Dockem Koala Wall Mount 2.0: Universal Dock for iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab/Note, Google Nexus, Microsoft Surface - Damage-Free, Smartphone, Tablet, eReader Holder (Black) by Frank Webster

Expensive and tacky, a bit questionable if you buy it for that

Bought these to hang the tablet on the wall. Let's start with the advantages: Adjustable size! No universal mounts for tablets from 7 to 10 inches. wanna hold the phone or your ipad? Or your Kindle? he does everything. It also includes some rubber grommets that adjust its thickness so your device doesn't get too loose and wobble inside. And if you're planning on screwing it to the wall, you're probably good to go! If you want to use glue. Be careful. I used the included alcohol pad to wipe the dirt/oil off the wall and let it dry, used both adhesive mounts, held each for 30 seconds, then let them dry for 24 hours. The next few days were fine until I found a mount (and my device) lying on the floor. The adhesive seems to break easily and imperceptibly (before it lay on the floor there was no sign that it had clearly peeled off). seems like a great mounting option, and it can be, but only if you use screws to install it. That being said, as others have pointed out: it's very thin plastic, probably only costs pennies etc to make, but you're not paying for scrap metal, you're paying for a specially molded plastic designed to hold a tablet. You can easily take 10 cents of plastic and some ribbon/screws to build your own mount, but it probably won't look as pretty.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
