My 7lb Maine Coon fits perfectly with plenty of room to move around and lie down. I think he can stay at least 2 more years. Plus he loves it! It folds easily with removable hard panels at the bottom and back so you can wash your pack. I love the chest and waist straps. I am a curvy girl with a 35 inch (175 lb) waist and there is plenty of room to fit tighter or looser. As soon as you get used to your body, you will hardly feel the weight of the backpack and your pet. When I saw this, I studied the bags for quite a while. I haven't tried the others but I would say this is the best.
