I bought 2 sets of these 2 inch casters - one for the art desk and one for the filing cabinet/computer desk. I used IKEA Kallax for my art. table base and I had no trouble installing it. The included caster bolts are 1" long but quite thick (I don't know what size they are, maybe about 3/8" in diameter. However, I had to pre-drill before screwing them in because the IKEA material is quite is thin .The included screws worked great for this application and my table rolled easily. The sound is quiet, the locking mechanisms work very well. The entire table assembly weighs about 200 pounds so I went with the 2" wheels, both because of the height and you can handle a heavier load.I was concerned that the black rubber might stain my wooden floors but so far that hasn't been a problem.I have not dragged a locked wheel across the floor to test the claim, that it doesn't leave a mark Very happy with how these wheels look and work for my project! At my computer desk with file drawer support Here I used IKEA Alex. The bottom plate thickness is 5/8 inch, so the included screws were too long. I could use some of these around the perimeter of the cabinet where I could screw them through the base and into the supporting vertical panel, but I had to go to the hardware store and buy a 1/2" wood screw for the holes that did this don't line up with the vertical board and they seem to work fine. Again, I suggest drilling pilot holes. The wood of my IKEA bedside table was soft enough that I could just screw it in without a pilot hole, but it split the veneer in one of the holes I didn't pre-drill. After that, the pilot holes played a role, the veneer no longer splintered. Again, the function of these wheels is great. I would have preferred a smaller wheel for this particular application based on looks, but smaller wheels have limited carrying capacity so I chose function over looks. I'm happy with my choice!
