If you have any doubts about buying a Vita, you should buy it. This Japanese previous model, US version, white, black, pink, blue, whatever. It's worth it. I play it all the time and use it everywhere. I got this because I couldn't find a US version for a decent price, so I figured if I paid extra for one I might as well get one that's different from everyone else's, just the black ones. The only thing that's frustrating at first is that the X and O buttons on the Vita's main menus are upside down compared to the US versions, but that's no big deal. (X=Yes/O=No in US, X=No/O=Yes in Japan) This affected some games including Need For Speed: Most Wanted which I purchased for download. looks great. My son has an older (American) model and if you already have one you don't need the skinny model. If you don't have an older model, I would suggest buying this one because of the micro USB cable, the extra hour of battery life, and the size/weight. The range of games available on this model is incredible, and the PlayStation Plus subscription makes this thing interesting. even sweeter. It also charges quickly with any USB cable and charger including my 2nd Gen Anker Astro E3. I also use it with the Butterfox dual compartment carrying case and the Hori screen protector (mainly to help with fingerprints). It was worth paying extra for the Japanese version instead of waiting for US stocks to be replenished. My only regret is that I didn't get it sooner!
