I only had to throw one away because there was a small chip on the bevel that looked like rust. It reminded me of my enameled sink.

Keep an eye on price fluctuations to make sure you get a fair price. Bought in July for 44.23 and now the price is much lower. Also make sure you are buying 4 for the price and not just one. At the same time, I just had to throw one out because a small chip, similar to rust, showed up on the bevel. It reminded me of my enameled sink which has a few cracks and is rusting. I have several other Corelle bowls that I have had over the years, nothing like this has ever happened to me.
