I bought 2 of these lights to light up 2 paintings on the wall. They can be easily attached to the bookshelf below. Since I wanted them on at the same time, I wanted to use an extension cord, so the 3ft cord wasn't a problem for me. I found the plastic part of the clip to be quite brittle and I don't think it will hold up to constant movement. There is an on/off switch on the light head, which also seems to be quite flimsy. Also the gooseneck part between the clip and the lantern hardly supported the light. With some precautions taken when moving, I was finally able to place them in a workable location. They light up a few (about 1.5 x 2 foot) images very nicely so I can see them now. Unfortunately one of the originals was shipped to DOA and I had to go back to Revain (also had a sagging gooseneck). They work for my application, but I doubt they'll last long if put in a laptop bag or moved around too much.
