I bought my Genie diaper in 1997 when I was pregnant with my first child and used it again in 1999 when my second child was born. I have just had my third baby and bought two replacement ear tips which I now find do not fit my Diaper Genie. Although I noticed the box said "Genie XL" I didn't know it was the new model and I didn't know it wouldn't go with the old ones. I really think they should state this clearly on the front of the package so people don't get scammed. The new refill canister is only a fraction of an inch away, which leads me to believe Playtex did it because they thought they would make more money if everyone bought a new Diaper Genie. Instead, I went out and bought a Baby Trend diaper. It works just as well as the Diaper Champ for odor control, but is easier to use (one-handed use) and the biggest plus is that it uses regular pouches - no need to buy special liners. Ha! Take it, Playtex!
