You get what you pay for. This is a toguard camera. I wanted a relatively inexpensive trail camera. The game camera is of very good quality for use during the day. Night-time motion detection isn't well-suited to small animals like armadillos or rats. If you want to spot small animals at night, you need to set it up as a time-lapse camera. When I do this I adjust one photo per minute, but you can make the interval shorter. The image quality at night is very good in time-lapse mode. Battery life is limited in night motion detection mode - maybe 2-5 nights. Every night in time-lapse mode there is no noticeable battery drain.
