Review on Reese Towpower 85718 T Connector by Matthew Nielsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent unobtrusive connections. Fits my 2006 Tacoma

Actually it's the husband/reducer writing this so please don't send questions! He ("I" below) read reviews in which, sold under different names, they die over time; Time will tell, moisture + salt + usage + installation can be just as important as your "luck" when they mysteriously fail over time. "Protective cap" on the rear connector - good! I recommend allowing at least an hour for the installation. And I recommend you buy a roll of 3/8 inch or larger spiral wrap (e.g. $5 or so at a hardware store in the electric aisle for a 10 foot wrap). The spiral wrap seemed unnecessary on the heavier 4 wire cable going to your hitch but seems like a good idea to cover/protect the smaller cables coming from the left (Reese main unit on driver's side) lens bay to the right lens slot. A spiral wrap, extra zip ties, a poke/pry tool (like a tiny screwdriver) and good hands to unwrap the original + still used connector without damaging the plastic latches (although friction and/or tape can hold them). together if you break the tab) should do it for you I searched the Reese website where the old part numbers and info seemed out of date (they made a new version maybe less crash prone?) This part # Should fit = 2005-2010 Tacoma if not apparently one of those specific X-Runner models. The cord length provided seemed perfect, maybe a foot to the trailer. Enough to clip it to a truck hitch and tie/tie/tie/etc when not in use.
