First the quality of the light: not as bright as I thought from the reviews. I'm replacing the existing fluorescent tube under the cabinet, which is normally bright and has a wide dimming range (from barely lit to very bright). This fixture is unmatched for dimming or full brightness. In addition, the light is advertised as a soft, warm white. It is by no means a warm white. We have warm white LEDs throughout the house and they don't even come close. Second, the direct wire function. It's just a direct connection if you buy a separate $10 device. Installation is really easy, but now my device costs over $50. It's not very expensive, but when I multiply that cost across the entire kitchen, it comes out to almost $300. For that price I can go to my expensive lighting store and buy a much prettier and more elegant solution. These lamps also look cheap. When you look at the reflection of light in a granite countertop, it looks like a workshop, not a kitchen. Apart from these 3 things, the light is good. No real quality/manufacturing issues, just cheap looking and unassuming.
