Review on ZAGG ZAGGfolio for Apple iPad 2 - Carbon with Black Keyboard: A Perfect Blend of Style and Functionality by James Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Satisfied . but a few caveats

I've had this keyboard/case combo for two months now. My experience is mostly positive: the battery seems to last forever (seriously, I never turn it off and it lasts for a month with multiple uses during the workday and occasional use at the weekend). Yes, you have to take the keyboard out of the case to charge it, but for a monthly top-up, who cares? I was using a different brand keyboard on my iPad 2 and this keyboard woke up after a few seconds. and reestablish the Bluetooth connection. Not so with this keyboard: it takes about 1-2 seconds to wake up and be effective. I like this because I don't wait for the keyboard to come to life when I'm typing. Don't let the carbon fiber look fool you. It's plastic, and the CF's appearance, by the way, is just a sticker peeling off at the corners. Another minor gripe is that the lid and locking mechanism don't work well. The lid has a slight play, which means that the case can sag when closed. This rotation is enough to release the two parts of the snap mechanism and not lock them together. You can force the two halves of the case to align and then it will snap and stay closed. In Zagg's defense, they may have had to build that "sucker" into the case to allow for flexibility when inserting an iPad 2 or keyboard, so it might not be a design flaw, but it's what the owner needs. To live with. In any case, this is not a critical point. Conclusion: I will definitely buy this product again and recommend it to several colleagues.
