I like the rubber sole of these moccasins. My previous moccasins had leather soles and although I liked them, I slipped on stairs, carpets, etc. The rubber sole solves this problem. One thing I always find problematic about the Minnetonka moccasins is that the leather laces often come undone. I used leather scraps to tie a knot so they don't undo, which worked great. In any case, they are more comfortable than my boats, although probably not as good in the wet.
