I was so scared when I first got it that I actually used one and squeezed it to see what it would do and how it felt before I made it my ear. Then I drank a glass of wine and put the first hole in my ear and it didn't hurt at all! I've wanted to get two more holes in each ear for a long time but hesitated because it was expensive and I didn't want to go to a small place like Claire. This really is the easiest thing you can use to get your ears pierced. I waited four days before wiping them down with alcohol and then I waited two weeks before replacing the 14k gold stud earrings and had no problems and it lasted over a month.
