It was a big hit with my wife as a birthday present. She is a passionate manicurist and always gets into trouble when her not-quite-dry nails get stained. This fan is reasonably sized (the size of a small toaster, I believe) and motion activated for drying, making the risk of touching something with wet nails less of a concern. According to my wife, this is a must have accessory for her when doing her manicure. The fan is powerful enough to dry your nails but not so powerful that the paint runs off your nails. It buzzes at a reasonable volume, but not too loud. So if you're watching TV while doing this I'd rather have the remote handy just in case, but you probably don't need to turn up the volume.
