This is a great lightweight sunshade that reduces glare but still provides good visibility. When I have dogs in the car I actually use a few more to completely cover the side windows and protect the dogs from the sun (yes when I do that they slide forward to the front windows but the suction cups are strong ). enough to keep them in place even when they bend over to get through door jambs and it just provides extra sun protection for dogs. Suction Cups: These are the same suction cups used for various car sunscreens and they have caused a lot of discussion whenever they have been used. I actually reviewed them extensively for another sunscreen - here's what I said: THE CUPS ARE JUST GOOD: They're light - but then you only have to hold a few ounces and they do it very well, they're EXTREMELY flexible, but this is GOOD as it gives you a better seal when you put them on and makes them easier to remove when you take them off. others have suggested heating them in hot water to eliminate any Cr facilitation that may have occurred during shipping and storage prior to their first use. Here's what I did: I heated a cup of water until it was VERY hot. I just put a coffee mug with hot water in the microwave for a minute and everything was fine. The water doesn't have to boil, but in this case it won't damage the suction cups. Soak the suction cups in water for about a minute. Again, there's no harm in leaving them longer, but you need to make sure you leave them in long enough for them to fully warm up. Take them out and press them firmly against a flat surface. Make sure the cups are completely flattened and have no wrinkles. Leave them like that until they are completely cool. Put suction cups on the screens and they hold up very well. Mine have been in my car for four days and are still securely fastened. Warning: Some people have mentioned that the suction cups don't hold up in the cold. I live in Texas so I don't have many opportunities to test this, but I think it might be true: if the suction cups are cold and hard, they won't flex enough to fully close. I suspect if you hold them in front of a heater vent for a minute or two, or just hold them in your hands long enough to heat them up, they will hold. Or at least they last as long as the window isn't very cold. In any case, they should be fine once the interior of the car has warmed up.
