Considering the price, this hair straightener is a great investment. I've bought straightening irons for over $100 and the difference between them and this one is almost imperceptible. I need a few extra passes to straighten a section of hair, but the end result is the same. I also really like that the small screen shows the temperature of the device. It literally takes about a minute to heat up to the next 450 temperature and the temperature stays the same throughout use. I like that the power button is pressed because it prevents accidental presses during use. In full disclosure, I have fine hair that is easy to style, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of this product on thick hair.
