Sony UBP-X800 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hi-Res Audio, 3D Streaming, HDMI Cable, Remote Control - Black Review

Video glitches/freezes due to some fingerprints!, trouble turning it on, manual or remote, I had to unplug it to make it work, now it tells me it can't read disc I may need to clean the disc and have tried several discs/movies, even after running the video disc cleanup tool it still won't read! And I have the latest firmware update.

The video quality upscaled to 4k is incredible. We have a 4k TV and this player even helps with that. DVD looks great. Blu-ray is even better. Beats my old Blu-ray player insanely. It also plays all audio CDs including SACD, USB input and plays Ultra HD Blu-ray. It's definitely worth the extra money. Be sure to use the included Super High Speed HDMI cables. They also seem important.

very disappointed. First, there was no backlight on the front of the player. Couldn't see if the device was playing? Secondly, after playing a movie with no problems and then later trying to play or even eject the movie, did the remote control or the buttons on the panel not power the device? I had to unplug my device to restart it and start playing. Finally it started skipping the currently playing movie with no problem? I can't accept it.

I love Sony devices but Blu-ray players always have problems. This device either turns on when you don't want to turn it on or freezes while you're watching a show or movie. Sometimes when it freezes you can't even turn off the device. Then you need to turn off the device and restart the device. I had this problem with a previous model. So the problem cannot only be with this device. The picture and sound quality is excellent when everything is working properly.

The most accurate five star turntable I've ever owned and in my 73 years on this planet I've had plenty. MARS AND JUPITER IS ANOTHER STORY. Hats off and go to SONY for developing a machine that exceeds all expectations. Definitely reproduces discs of different types across the spectrum and even tells you their type and function.
