Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Intertap Self Closing Faucet Spring: Enhance Efficiency & Water Conservation by Ken Gray

Minor modification and work with other faucets

I wish I knew more about self-closing faucets before I bought my Bev Rite 4 inch beer faucet stem. I realized I needed a self-closing faucet after accidentally losing half a pint of good home brew. There were no upgrades for the faucets I bought, but I found these. You can see in the attached photos that I cut the small end of the feather to 1 1/8 inches. Through trial and error, I've found this to work for my standard taps (i.e. not Intertap). It took scissors and a hammer to cut the spring, but now I have working self-tapping screws! To install, I inserted a cut spring between the faucet and the stem and pressed the small end of the spring against the faucet gasket. , and the big end is in the stock cup.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
