. I bought these to hand sew, not machine sew. I like that it's thin and strong enough to just use thick thread, as double thread is much more prone to knots and needs to be threaded twice as often. However, the "internally bound" thread should not fray and separate into layers when cut, which is bad. This makes threading the needle almost impossible without a needle threader. Big brands like COats and Clark don't do this. At the same time I bought this large spool of black Mandala brand furniture twine and it WILL NOT separate when cut.
