Great little projector for the price!

This little projector is a great buy for the price. We had a few issues before we started doing anything and I'll explain them in a moment, but once we got settled it was like being in a car. Image quality is excellent when viewed in total darkness. The attached photos are in our backyard, shown on an 8.5 inch screen and you can see the difference in total darkness with the lights on, which is to be expected since it's a projector. Now let me draw your attention to some of the problems we have encountered. one). It is quite difficult to connect to iPhone or MacBook via WiFi. Couldn't get Netflix to play audio but played videos on my phone or from YouTube with no issues. I'm not 100% sure but I think this issue is related to Netflix. We bought this specifically to watch movies from Netflix so that was an issue. Connecting the projector directly to a MacBook using the HDMI cable (included) was easy. The direct connection to a Blu-ray player via HDMI cable was also no problem. Please note that your picture will likely be much better if you connect directly and not via WiFi.2). Sound. See Netflix audio issue above. The rest of the sound is so-so, but I strongly advise connecting external speakers. We live in the woods where the nighttime critters singing is absolutely deafening, so we desperately needed external speakers. I *hoped* to use this to connect my MacBook to our JBL Charge Bluetooth speakers, but my connection to the speakers kept dropping and we were never able to get it to work. We bought a direct connect cable but haven't tried it yet because my husband Tim Taylor wanted to set it up and plugged in his speakerphone instead. So our current setup is with it and it sounds AWESOME. If you have your own speaker system - do it, it's amazing. All in all, for less than $100 (plus the cost of the screen if you're buying one), I highly recommend this product. However, be aware that if you buy it specifically for watching Netflix movies, you might experience Wi-Fi issues.
