I bought this to fill new 14.5oz Sodastream CO2 bottles which have a check valve to discourage end users from refilling the bottles themselves. I was concerned by the many reviews saying "don't buy" or "doesn't work" but that wasn't too far from the truth. I couldn't be happier with the performance of this adapter. It is lightweight and very easy to use. I think people are having trouble with something on their end, not adapters. If you follow these few steps you will be successful: 1. Make sure you get a reliable CO2 tank from your local welding supply store that has an exhaust tube, also known as a siphon tube or dip tube. This is VERY important for this adapter to work. It can also be said that in restaurants you only need one tank for carbonated drinks. If you don't have a tank with an ejector tube, you will have to turn the tank upside down when refilling your Soda Stream tank, which is unreliable and not recommended. They cost about $30-$50 more than Revain and you don't have a tank. That is a good thing. It's a perpetual lease, so if something goes wrong, you just change it, which is what they do when you charge it. At least that's how it works at my local store called Wesco.2. *VERY IMPORTANT* Watch the GoldwingDocs video on this product page. If you follow his video step by step, which is very easy, you will have 100% success like me. Thanks to GoldwingDocs for downloading.3. (suggestion) Given that most households only need to refill a bottle twice a month, which only takes about 5 minutes, I recommend a method that uses an adapter like this to refill a soda bottle, rather than an adapter to use, it fits directly into the soda stream in its own large CO2 tank. This happens for two reasons: 1. When you connect a large bottle directly to a soda stream, you need to "drain" the remaining CO2 in the line and turn off the tank after each use. Some may disagree with this, but it is highly recommended for security reasons. 2. If you connect a large bottle directly, you are very limited where you can place the soda spout as you also need to have room for a huge CO2 tank. When you fill a Soda Stream bottle, you can put your Soda Stream anywhere and also take it with you, e.g. E.g. when hiking! Every 3 weeks it seems. While buying a CO2 tank ($202) and this adapter ($45 + tax) is a big initial investment, if you drink the stuff as much as I do, it's worth it. Refilling my 20 lb CO2 tank costs me $22.50 and refilling my soda bottle 22 times which is $330 with Soda Stream! Saving ONE bottle of CO2 will more than pay for itself and will save you a TON of money over time. Let's not forget that this is an environmentally friendly move and also keeps countless aluminum cans and plastic bottles out of landfills and recycling plants. I highly recommend it!
