This was the perfect solution to our problem. We recently bought a new bed when we transferred an aging parent to the foster care unit. The new springs and mattress were too high for our mother to safely climb in or out of bed, so we removed the springs and covered the frame with plywood. This resulted in the bed being too low and heavy on our mother's lap. Then we ordered these adjustable bed risers which allowed us to vary and experiment to find the right height. We started with a 5 inch set but it was on the limit of what we needed so we switched to a 3 inch set. That was excellent. If our mom can regain the strength of her legs, we'll probably go back to the 5 inch size. Bottom line, the choice is ours... The risers are good and strong, they can easily support the bed and a person's weight, and are easy to toggle on and off as we searched for the perfect height. Under bed storage wasn't our goal, but I can see how it could be an added benefit in our situation.
