I chose silver. I have a black CCRadio that works well in the guest bathroom so thought I'd grab the silver one this time and look forward to comparing the sound of the two radios. With the treble set to 75%, I get brighter tones on both AM and FM. Any muffled sound on AM on the old model is gone on the new one. My Sangean LB-100 was having trouble receiving KCRW 89.9 for some reason. CCRadio 2E does not have this problem. I've heard that some 2E models make an annoying beep when changing channels, but mine doesn't have those beeps. I listened to 91.5 KUSC for classical listening, and the baroque sounded bright, clear, and layered. Talk radio on AM and FM was less muffled than on my Sangean LB-100. With the included power cord without batteries I had no interference with AM so I doubt I'll invest in D batteries unless I want a power outage. fuse.
