Expensive but necessary.

I bought a 1 meter (3ft) cable because I needed to access the USB3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port on my motherboard. Every USB-C to USB-C cable I have is designed to transfer lots of power at incredible speeds, but no data! All of them are limited to 5 Gbps. I have 1 and 2 meter OEM cables from Apple and Google, as well as some cables from Anker and Aukey. None of them have been rated for data transfer, even if they came with devices that require data transfer. It can be either fast charging or 10Gb/s transfer speed. So after a few quick searches I found this pretty strong and sturdy cable. At first I was skeptical about its use, but it is necessary. I was able to get full transfer speeds on my NVMe drives over USB. I have now permanently connected this cable to the back of my computer with the open/loose end resting on the weight of the cable for use with accessories and external hard drives as needed. I highly recommend getting this cable if you have accessories, an external hard drive with a USB-C connector, or if you've built your own external storage devices with an NVMe drive. My only two points of disappointment have to do with how thick and durable this cable is. and also how much it costs. I hope that over time we will see a cheaper cable with more flexibility.
