This spaetzle maker definitely does the job and it's a lot easier than the "scratch method". We eat a lot of German food, so I regularly cook spaetzle at home and I needed a new tool. I bought this one because the design was similar to my old one. Spaetzle come out evenly and perfectly sized. The only thing that confuses me is that my batter tends to overflow the hopper. (It works under the hopper and makes a bit of a mess, doesn't roll in the hopper as efficiently as the old one.) Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it was a drier dough. It still does its job, it just needs a little more attention during the process and I need to work a little faster than my old one. This is definitely a worthy tool for its price. Here's a photo of the last dish I made with it: beef roulades, red cabbage and spaetzle with brown sauce.
