The battery life of this product was terrible. The day I unpacked it, I let it charge for over 4 hours without turning it on. I then turned it on and left it silent on my coffee table. When I got back to him about 5-6 hours later, he was already dead. So I tried to let it charge longer, thinking that I must not have given it enough time to charge. I plugged it in for a day and a half and turned it off again while it was charging so it could charge fully. I turned it on, maybe set a second dimming setting and again it died within 4 hours of turning it on. I don't know if this thing is meant to be plugged into a direct power supply in order for it to work properly. If so, then you need a longer cable and a proper socket. I'll probably buy a longer cable for this and use the base from an old phone charger. I just find it very lame that the idea behind this product is to sit freely and it's not made to keep the power going for more than a couple of hours. It really disappointed me because I've wanted something like this since I first saw it.
