Review on High-performance Minolta 50mm f1.7 AF Lens: Precise Autofocus for Outstanding Photography by Eric Fish

Great lens for your money!

I bought a used copy of this lens from the Amazon warehouse, I had some doubts before buying as this is my first time buying a used lens. Luckily the lens arrived in perfect condition! Not a single scratch on the case or optics, no dust, haze or fungus. As my first fast prime lens, I am undoubtedly very different from a kit lens. It lets in a lot more light so you can shoot in low light without a flash or tripod and of course the reason for buying this lens is the f1.7 aperture which is great for bokeh and background blur. With an APSC sensor, this lens is an excellent portrait lens. The build quality is very good, the lens is surprisingly small and light. For around $60 I'm sure you won't find a better option!

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No paint required
