I use accessory cables to connect my iPod to a pair of soundproof headphones when mowing the lawn with my self-propelled lawnmower. I went through several cables before ordering my first pair of Retractables Cable Matters. Some of the earlier cables simply failed due to wear in the connector. Some failed when a dangling cord caught on something. Retractable cords are at least as good as other cords in terms of wear and tear from plugging and unplugging, and retractability is a really big plus as it reduces dangling cords. This is my second order. The first order was two years ago. One of the originals had audio issues (no pull back issues) so I started using the second and ordered a few more. I highly recommend this item.
