Review on Globe Electric Die Cast Push N Click 90872 by Matthew Seamster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good looking 4 " recessed downlight works great with new GU10 LED

Bought 20 pieces for general lighting of entire floor. I have 10 in a 15 x 17 area (plus ceiling fan in the centre) and 9 in a 10 x 13 kitchen and there is enough light if you use a 5w GU10 LED bulb with a 120 degree beam angle and dimmable 3000 Use K. Main thing is 120 degree spread so there are no shadows and spots.(If that's what you want.) Good quality. When you first open them you might think they're pretty cheap but they are very well made and look great installed no more than 15 degrees of swivel to each side and only for minor adjustments not for sloping steel ceilings I had two problems firstly they are ribbed which means they are in one Hold 90 degree angles to the back box on the ceiling. That is, if you are next to a bar, you need to turn it sideways. I would say you need at least 1-3/4" from the joist for this not to be a problem. In tight spaces, such as joists with piping or ducts, this is not an option. I ended up drilling the rivet out, rotated it 75-80 degrees and put in a screw to hold it in place. It worked fine although it seemed a little hacked. The second problem was that I had 4 plus wires going into the box I ended up buying a 1/2 extension and connecting this box to a standard square metal box via an extension and then running a set of wires between them This worked fine except you have to be careful when plugging it into the ceiling, as you have a very long assembly that almost curls up. When the LEDs are off there is no longer a need for 6" or 5" downlights. Very good product. Will buy 10 more for other areas.
