Application: I have 10 pygmy goats and wanted to find an easy way to get the hay they need without a lot of intervention. First I built a feed fence out of panels for the pigs who had hay for them, but they ate it up so quickly I had to fill it up every day as they dumped a bin on the ground. Bales of hay in the feeders, then cut the bale cords - while they are strong. Cons: -none yet (2 months of use) except it takes upper body strength to hang the feeder. Conclusion: My goats used to walk through a small hay bale when they were about 10 days old. Now it lasts 2-3 weeks without such losses. I don't have to throw hay away every day, it saves time.
