Review on Coop Home Goods Compressible Backpacking by Rachel Wilder

So glad I listened!

WOW. I wasn't expecting anything great from the camping pillow I bought but WOW! I can't stand air cushions. I can handle the rest of the pain that comes with rough work. But the neck hurts, not so much. This luxury camping pillow will relieve me of those pains. Everyone who sits with you on that plane or at that campsite, even in the business elite or in their RV, as well as everyone you meet on your journey will be jealous because you have this pillow to make you comfortable . I've read reviews where people have said they replace their regular bed pillows with these and I think I might have to do the same. It's so convenient! Every summer my family goes camping and some of us go camping. Our trip is next month and I'm so excited to bring this pillow. I think this will stay in the tent when we go camping. A bit heavy to take with me unless it's a short trip and I can save weight and space. For a better backpack pillow (also foam, lighter, rolls up compact enough [for me], head doesn't hit the ground directly), I'd look at Therm-a-Rest. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773H412H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm a medium size and it's about the same size as this pillow, slightly smaller and lighter packed. Not quite as cheap, but then you do without a lot of luxury on the trail. But you don't have to do without a fluffy, non-inflatable pillow if you have space in your backpack. For backpackers I would recommend this. For campers you are worth gold here. Pros: Supportive yet soft. I love it when my head sinks a little and when I sleep on my back (I sleep on my back and side) I get a nice soft cradle on the side of my head and it works great. I usually need two pillows for this, one firmer at the bottom and one softer at the top, but I only need one. - There is a zip to remove the outer shell and then another zip to hold the foam padding (also incredibly soft. I just dip my hand in to fluff it up and let the smell go a bit). The outer shell is washable but I don't know about the rest. I plan on layering a toddler pillowcase on top and waterproofing the outer shell with a zip to keep the foam dry in the backcountry. - Fits well in a stuff sack! My photos seemed a bit larger than the others so I'm wondering if they heard the other reviewers and if they were listening. While the stuff sack is cheaper, it seems to hold up well if not shaken too roughly. It has a great strap on the outside if you want to attach it to your backpack. Cons: - smells like chemicals when you first take it out. Not too durable but enough for sensitive people to have potential problems. UPDATE: The zippered outer protective cover is difficult to close once opened. The lightning gets stuck in the surrounding fabric, making holes in the process. Removing the star doesn't bother me as I hardly ever need it, but it's annoying enough to mention.
